"People find it difficult to resist your persuasive manner"

I had to laugh when i read that, of all the daily "Today's fortune" that i have read on Orkut, this takes the cake. Don't understand the logic behind this, would love to know how many got the same "fortune" for today and if they where really so fortunate enough!!

Well came from another weekend sojourn to Chennai, the same old early morning shatabdi trip. For a change i was greeted by the Bangalore "Save Tibet"(against China) campaign. The pack led by monks and then by the in numerous number of students and all those we unnecessarily call "chinky". I could estimate the length of the line to be close to at least 1.5-2kms. It was massive, yet peaceful, that was what the whole religion of Buddhism is about. All religions teach "a" way of life, none say this is "the" way. Buddhism tries or guides one to experience this reality. Knowing that Buddhism is the largest religion/faith in east Asia and is the major religion of China, the attitude of the Chinese towards the liberation of Tibet is appalling. Moreover the Indian govt trying to get into the good books of its coalition partners by being biased towards the Chinese saddens one's heart, considering India was the major centre of Buddhism teaching and we have been protecting the erstwhile Tibetan government for a long time.

Well, lots of friends are getting married and the future looks bleak for me, in the way that i would be forced to leave my singleton status. The other day mom visits the "josier"(astrologer) who enlightens her that i would get married in the next 6-8 months and my wife would look like the "Rose" of Titanic!!Unke mooh mein cheeni dalo yaar koyi.. :D Kate Winslet and my wife, man she should read this! If he had told me so when i was born, i would have shifted to Hollywood a long time back.

Thinking of shifting jobs again, god knows why.

Booked a house across the sea cost, 11th floor sea and lake view. This is going to be a dream come true very soon for me.Yeah, it is going to take another 3 years for the project to get completed, but what gives, i have a house by the coast..yaeeee!! And yet again i surprised myself by taking a decision quick, hope it works out well(keeping fingers crossed XXX) and yes it saves taxes.

Connecting with a lot of old friends, have been too nostalgic of late thinking of those good times that we all had at school and later while i was in Air tel. Those where the king of good times.

Started working out in the gym again, its such a fantastic feeling to know that you are putting some amount of effort to some good use.

Watching lots of junk movies of late, and no wonder all of them are Hindi.

Splurged on a iPod touch, worth every bloody drop of blood, its so cooooool...i now have a iPod!!!! :)). My HTC touch added to this i have become such a touch sensitive person, this even prompted a friend on asking if i was such a physical person :\

Some people are snobbish and ignore you just for the heck of it(they arent celebs, mind it), these people just cant seem to move on with life, I wonder if there is any humanity left in this world.

Listening to lots of Ilayaraja these days, that guy's a true genius. The composition of this song from Ninaivellam Nithya(i think so) is one of my all time favourites , just check the lyrics

The alternate sync between the guitar, drums and pure carnatic to fast tempo is wow so awesome.

Back to Gurgaon on monday on a two month stay, back to being a northie again...khuda aafis.

My New Friends

I have two new fantastic friends, Don and the person with no name.

Don happens to be a sweet cute looking black labrador who lives in the next apartment. He has these wonderful deep brown eyes that makes your heart melt.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labrador_Retriever)

As my sis says

" tats such a dumb dog
makes friends with everyone

buts its real cute na
its eyes "

True to what she says, he has become friends with everyone in the house. Just scratch him from top to bottom, and you'l find yourself the most satisfied customer for your scratch massage parlour. You'll swiftly be rewarded with a wonderful pink tounge cleaning service from your fingers till your feet.

My association with labs started in June 98. When i was intoduced first to a labrador retriever "Sandy" earlier to the owner who ended up being my sis-in-law.And sandy is the most classic example of a labrador.Huge, Lazy,so damn cute, big apetitite, strong, obedient.

His soul ended up in my niece, the owners daughter(you should see her chasing her tail!!)

The next friend happens to have taken my sis's role of a daughter or my bro's role of a son to my aunt(i still havent figured if that person is male or female)(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dove)

Well my aunt almost nurtured her(him??) after its parents left her.Listen to the videos for further info. You should especially listen to her say "enna da kanna, sapiddu da"etc..

Of being committed and single....

Disclaimer:The below facts are purely based upon observation and not on any personal experiences :D(maybe biased towards men, but I'm no MCP)

Adult life has two phases, committed and single. When you are committed you are supposed to give in trust;obligated; engaged; industrious; ambitious; loyal. When you are single you are supposed to be not deceitful or artful; honest; sincere;alone; having no companion.

These are my observations on the people who are under the influence of either of the above two toxicants.

Being single as i mentioned in one of the earlier posts is a highly precarious situation. People who are single strive to get committed. And people who are committed try to move back to being single. So its all a matter of which side of the brain functions at which point of time.

Honestly the fun starts when that being is single and strives to get committed, the situation is sort of like this:
  • Our highness looks with benevolence at those who are committed, he feels that they are losing the fun in their life by walking the line.
  • All of a sudden he realises all the pretty girls are actually born with "boyfriends".
  • He panics.
  • He lists down the most possible placed where he could find single and ready to mingle PYT's.
  • He frequents(as in every 3-4mins) all the social networking sites(what a royal name for something so stupidly lame).
  • He wishes he had a single login to manage all the sites.
  • He searches profiles age wise, country wise, state wise and social status wise(women obviously).
  • It doesn't work.
  • He looks around at work, the girl who sits across, the girl during the break next to the coffee machine(who incidentally linked eyes with him and smiled), that firang during lunch..anyone whose not a man :( .
  • He changes his hairdo, he gets a new facial hair style(read moustache, beard).
  • He buys a new wardrobe(all branded clothes).
  • He starts working out(Ha..ha!!).
  • He starts dancing classes(one of those intimate Latin dances, unluckily he's paired along with a guy).
  • He asks his friends friends for intros.
  • Depression sets in (all the above happens in a weeks time).

Why did god ever have to make Adam??Couldn't he just do the trick with eve? By the way, was God man?

So our man finally finds someone. He starts floating . He is all smiles all the time(would beat Aishwarya Rai's too).Monthly mobile bills reach an all time record, sending the mobile companies on a big fraud management exercise, gifts get exchanged, his EMI's increases(credit card companies are happy), he dreams of a fine wedding,yumm..wonderful food,he remembers all the discarded old romantic songs and loads his mobile/pod with them, everything happy..happy..happy!!

Then funny things happen, as a wise man(me,of course) said a long time back- it takes a life time to understand a woman and by the time you do, you are dead.

He just found out the meaning of chaos theory(long live my B.Sc in Physics http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaos_theory). Unpredictability is best explained in women. Now its time to exterminate an organism that has become to live out of him(Good ol 10th standard Biology http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parasite).

Now the sequence of extermination progresses like:

  • Irritate the women, works like a charm all the time, every time.
  • Do just what she doen'nt like, works like voodoo magic.
  • Cut calls majorly, or make too many calls and pressurise to talk at weird hours and weird situations.
  • Talk about old relationships.
  • Tell them what to do.
  • Ask them to meet you evry day at 10 in the night.

So while i mention about 15 points for trying, i would do with about 6 for extermination. Why so? Women are so darn impatient!! Yo baby, i just love them for that. It makes our life so eeeeeeaaaaaassssyyyyy.....

Thats about it..chow..chow!!

Moi es back..

you are aqua
#00FFFF

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is very high - you are all about getting things done. The world may think you work too hard but you have a lot to show for it, and it keeps you going. You shouldn't be afraid to lead people, because if you're doing it, it'll be done right.

Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.

The one i love..

Haven't slept in a week
My bed has become my coffin
Cannot breath, cannot speak
My head's like a bomb, still waiting
Take my heart and take my soul
I don't need them anymore

The one I love
Is striking me down on my knees
The one I love
Drowning me in my dreams
The one I love
Over and over again
Dragging me under

Hypnotized by the night
Silently rising beside me
Emptiness, Nothingness
Is burning a hole inside me
Take my faith and take my pride
I don't need them anymore

This bed has become my chapel of stone
A garden of darkness to where I'm thrown
So take my life, I don't need it anymore

In my life..

Feel the heat below my feet
I have to go, no time to sleep
Can't believe the things you say
I turn my head and walk away
You make me sick - you make me nervous

Times had gone when you would say
This is the one and seize the day
Times had gone for honesty
My victory is your defeat
Can't you see you've been mistaken

In my life I decide and it turns me on,
How I am, how I live, who I love
In my way I feel strong and it turns my on
In my life, I decide, I decide

I decide

I decide

All you do you can't deny
It's waste of time, waste of life
Can I suggest that you invest
In something more than hopelessness
Before you know the ride is over

In my life I decide and it turns me on,
How I am, how I live, who I love
In my way I feel strong and it turns my on
In my life, I decide, I decide

It's up to you if you give it up
It's up to you if you won't stop
It's up to you if you give it up
It's up to you if you won't stop

It's up to you if you give it up, give it up
It's up to you if you won't stop
It's up to you if you give it up, give it up
It's up to you
It's up to you...

The record shows that you're dead but you're still living
Every time you have died you have been given
Another chance to fix your bad attitude
And make a move, it's up to you

It's up to you if we give it up, give it up
It's up to you if we give it up, give it up
It's up to you
It's up to you
YOU...

Give it up
Give it up
Give it up
Give it up

Give it up
Give it up
Give it up
Give it up

Aaaaarrrrghhhhh...

The last week of my life has been such a useless waste of time. Doing the same routine sec after sec is such a tiring activity. Let me list it down for the unlucky souls who may be reading it

  • Get up at 7
  • Wake up and wonder why it gets dawn by that time.
  • Brush the teeth long enough to make it the winning entry in any contest at any point of time and curse that the hair is soo curly after sleeping.
  • Try to off load some stake in the physical equity which is very tough doing so in the place of disinvestment that is very new.
  • Take a bath that would put a bird to shame.
  • Dress up like a Barbie doll.
  • Eat dosas.
  • Start leaving for work with the ever efficient hari on his bike till RS Puram.
  • Take the silly 7 route which believes in going around the world in 30mins to go till race course that is 10mins away.
  • Open the only computer in which the interesting network is available.
  • Log on to google, personalized home (Sic.), check the horoscope and hope that the present and future at least is good on the net.
  • Go to gmail and check all the new irrelevant mails that monster throws out as search.
  • Open the official mail id and know beforehand that boss will surely not taken any decision on the mail that you sent him 4 days back.
  • Open orkut and scrap all the half lings that are on your friend list.
  • Open icicidirect and see how your scrips are doing.
  • Then open all the bank accounts and hope that some billionaire ship tycoon in Greece who has no children found out that you are genetically related to him and deposits about 300billion dollars.
  • Then wait for the pitiful co workers to turn up who jus don’t seem to like to talk in any other language than Bengali.
  • Eat the most wonderful tea, courtesy the client.
  • Look at every woman who passes by and think of a statement that suits her.
  • Close yourself from the rest of the world, Start listening to music.
  • Read all the silly documents that you have managed to seek and save all your life.
  • Go to annapuarana and eat at 1.30 sharp
  • Have the next wonderful cup of coffee, courtesy again the client.(some best coffees and teas come down south)
  • Then do the google till bank account part again.
  • Start to think of leaving at 4 sharp.
  • Start packing the bags by 5.30 sharp.
  • Do the google to icici part by 6.30.
  • Take the 7 service again and go till RS Puram to meet hari.
  • You know he’s gonna be late so try and hog some ice creams in bon bon.
  • Meet up with the guys by around 8.30 ish and start the debate on where and what to eat.
  • Eat and go home by 11.

Whoever said time is precious should try and take some time from me for free. Every passing day seems to be like floating in outer space in search of a galaxy that was lost some 1000 light years ago. End of this sojourn im mostly gonna end up as philosophical and irrititable like Aristotle or Socrates. Worse I guess this routines gonna continue for a loooonnnggg time.

Confusion

Something that I read in the telegraph in Kolkata. One on “Dada” returning back to competitive cricket, being as tough as he has always been and the other on confusion.

Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them-a desire, a dream, and a vision. They have to have last-minute stamina, they have to be a little bit faster, they have to have the skill & the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.
Only a man who knows what it is like to be defeated can reach down to the bottom of his soul & come up with the extra ounce of power it takes to win when the match is even.

Confusion is a result of conclusions. If you have a conclusion already & then life appears as something else, you are confused. Don’t fix life, but drop your conclusions.

Well the first one was said by probably the toughest sportsman ever, the living legend Mohammed Ali. A man who I got to know about first during my 12th standard and whose will power has never ceased to amaze me. He has been through race subjugation, Alzheimer’s and many other traumas and still arose like a unicorn from its ashes. A source of inspiration for many a black American during the late 70s and 80s and probably the most uncelebrated of all the anti racists. The man was treated a true hero upon his return to Kentucky, was given the city keys. Yet the devotion he had to his brethren made him do an unimaginable thing. How many would have chucked an Olympic medal into oblivion coz he & his race was insulted, remember the medals those days had lots of real gold in them unlike today. A genius of a boxer, the butterfly, as he was called because like the insect he flutters around hitting when he needs to and tiring his opponent into submission.

The words are not only apt for dada, but many among us who have to go through some of the toughest times and yet find THAT inner self that makes us go further, more stronger than ever, more determined to achieve the impossible. Not many people can cope up with defeat on their faces everyday, not many will like to keep on facing defeats, yet living to fight for it another day.

You always have the option of either choosing to live or die. And in dying you can chose to fight and die or to commit suicide. It’s better to fight it out, know what you are worth and die rather than being a coward and taking the easier way out. This is true in every case. Our day to day work, our family life, in relationships, almost every second we fight within ourselves. Take for example our body, it’s in war with millions of bacteria every millisecond, yet the moment we lose our will, we find ourselves being thrown into a hapless world of doctors, test reports and dosages. As the man said, it’s only a matter of will.

The second was supposedly by a Zen master (was in the Tarot column). I don’t know why iam putting it down here. It just sounded quite logical to me. True, the japs always had a practical way to life.

Being Single..and loving it!!

In the adjective form single means :
  • Not accompanied by another or others; solitary.
  • Separate from others; individual and distinct.
  • Honest; undisguised: a single adoration.
  • Unmarried.
  • Lacking a partner.
  • Relating to the unmarried state: enjoys the single life.
And In the noun form :
  • One that is separate and individual.
  • An unmarried person.
In both forms it is utterly very depressing to know what it means. But the way i look at it,it has its advantages. For example :
  • More freedom and independence
  • More control over your time
  • More control over your money
  • Not having to tolerate another’s annoying habits
  • No emotional roller coaster rides
  • Ability to become aware of who you are and what u want to do
I bet every single married/un married/committed person will agree with me on the above points.Im not an advocate on being single for life. But its more enjoyable this way, atleast i can say this by looking at the far more unlucky souls who have crossed the barrier of being legitimate singletons.

I have a very close friend of mine who is a single mother. The kids not hers & iv never asked her how she got it.(She said dont ask,jus trust me!!).The kids so adorable and the family goes at lengths to support her.
I know what all she had gone thru to keep her, after all being single middle class south indian will subject you to so much prejudice.
Let me say one thing to her before i start of with the rest, iam proud of u,iv never seen some one as strong as u,im lucky that we got to know each other in odd circumstances and became such good friends.Ur what most women dream of becoming these days.

We constantly discuss about the +ves and -ves of being single and i always remind her to move out of that status.EOD we both get to have some more advantages of being single. Here goes:

  • Flirt with every guy/girl that you want without apology.
  • The constant feeling that you are being watched & adored by every other PYT's(this could be my misconception though).
  • I emphasize on this, spend all the money that u have on urself, max to ur parents or friends.
  • The unique feeling of being self content on doing everything without depending on others.
And as my "WISE"(she wanted me to mention this) sis-in-law said "I envy you your single-status travel experience...enjoy it while you can cos all too soon, you will be double, triple, etc","There is a certain charm to being single and carefree...gosh!".

But there is always a dull side to the brighter things,u cant get into discos/nightclubs(unless ur a girl, they get everything!!),suddenly you find urself being alone & have panic attacks(jus kiddn),you start envying the not so good looking guy with the wow so looking girl under his arms,u start observing people giving u 'that' strange look if u go to cinemas alone, killing time gets to be so painful,u spend magnanimously on every odd thing.
Who cares??its good to be single and eligible..cheers!!
